Tusla extends Children First Training with Launch of Two New Modules
Posted on the February 13th, 2018
Tusla has extended its Children First training for staff with the release of two new eLearning modules, ‘Implementing Children First in Tusla’ and ‘Children First in Action’.
Designed and developed in collaboration with Aurion Learning, the new online training resources are designed to help Tusla staff members better understand their responsibilities under the National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017 and the Children First Act 2015 in Ireland.
The Children First training will be rolled out to more than 4,000 Tusla staff members.
The two new eLearning modules follow the release of ‘Introduction to Children First’, a bespoke eLearning programme designed to raise awareness and increase knowledge of child protection and welfare issues, roles and responsibilities for all Irish health and social workers and other frontline staff in affiliated agencies.
The suite of eLearning resources contains over two hours of learning content that introduces and explains policy and legal obligations and features real-world video scenarios and interactive knowledge checks.
Commenting on the launch of the new eLearning resources, Aurion’s Chief Strategist and Managing Director, Dr Maureen Murphy said:
“The Children First eLearning resources are more than your standard online training package. Our aim in delivering these bespoke training materials was to create an engaging and relevant learning experience for users that used real-life situations and examples to really capture the ethos of the Children First Act.”
“Our specialist team were really pleased to work collaboratively with Tusla again on this project, which fully utilises our knowledge and expertise of the health and social care sector.”
