Success for Children First at Brandon Hall Group Awards
Posted on the September 4th, 2019
We have been awarded a Bronze award for Best Unique or Innovative Learning and Development Program.
An Introduction to Children First eLearning programme is designed to educate and support the individuals who work with children and families across Ireland to recognise child abuse and report a concern in relation to a child’s welfare or protection to Tusla, as set out in Children First: National Guidance for the Protection and Welfare of Children 2017 and the Children First Act 2015.
Tusla Child and Family Agency is the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children in Ireland.
The award-winning eLearning programme uses real-world dramatised video scenarios, based on real-life situations, vox-pops, children’s voices, and interactive activities to help to identify gaps in knowledge for the learner and reinforce learning opportunities, whilst enabling self-reflection.
An Introduction to Children First was the first eLearning programme of its kind requested by the Irish Government that would be delivered to a universal audience.
Since its launch, over 350,000 individuals across multiple disciples in Ireland have completed An Introduction to Children First, and a survey revealed that 97% of learners can see ways in which they can change their practice as a result of the programme.
“Brandon Hall Group Excellence Awards Program has recognised leading organizations for the past twenty-plus years for the latest trends in Human Capital Management,” said Rachel Cooke, Brandon Hall Group COO, and leader of the HCM Excellence Awards Program. “The initiatives that were honoured are not only innovative but fit the unique needs of the business and create truly remarkable success stories.”
Commenting on the acknowledgement, Managing Director at Aurion Learning, Dr Maureen Murphy commented:
“An Introduction to Children First eLearning programme is a terrific example of collaboration and delivery. We are incredibly proud of our work at Aurion and to see our clients work recognised at an international stage is extremely gratifying.”
Award entries were evaluated by a panel of veteran, independent senior industry experts, Brandon Hall Group analysts and executives based upon the following criteria: fit the need, design of the program, functionality, innovation and overall measurable benefits.
“The HCM Excellence Awards recognise programs that measurably benefit organisations,” said Mike Cooke, Brandon Hall Group CEO.
“Many human capital management departments are unable to confirm that their initiatives help the business’s bottom line. Because we focus on measurable benefits, our awards program is universally recognized and highly prestigious.”
Aurion Learning and Tusla’s award win was announced on Thursday, 22 August 2019 at a virtual award ceremony where leading organisations across multiple sectors, around the world celebrated success.
This latest award recognition is the latest in a series of Brandon Hall Group Awards for Aurion Learning, having previously won two Gold and a Bronze award for their work with the Health Service Executive.
