New eLearning Resources to help Manufacturers get Brexit Ready Launched

In collaboration with Manufacturing NI and Ulster University, we have developed a suite of bite-sized eLearning resources as part of a campaign to help support manufacturers in Northern Ireland get prepared for Brexit.

The new eLearning resources are developed across ten sectoral supply chain topics that will help improve knowledge and deliver relevant information, tailored to the needs of the manufacturing sector, post-Brexit.

Launched last week, the eLearning resources, ‘Get Supply Chain Ready for Brexit’ uses a microlearning approach, delivering short and engaging learning experiences to enable users to consume content, just in time and place and taken in a matter of minutes.

“For this project, it was important to consider what ‘Learning that Works’ really meant in the context of preparing for Brexit.

We settled on bite-sized learning resources that could deliver expert opinion while signposting users to other practical resources and official government guidance.

The urgency to provide clarity and support for businesses ahead of looming Brexit deadlines also validated this approach,” said Gavin Woods, Client Services Director at Aurion Learning.

Designed for manufacturing organisations in Northern Ireland, the eLearning resources contain a wealth of information, including video content and guides on supply chain areas such as exporting goods to UK and EU regulations, as well useful links to other sources of help and information for various sectors.

“Leaving the EU, deal or no-deal, will have a massive impact on our local manufacturing industry. Firms here need to be confident that they are prepared for every eventuality which may crop up.

This campaign with Ulster University will ensure manufacturers have all the information they need to mitigate against the impacts of Brexit and to help keep their businesses running as smoothly as possible.

Given our importance to the regional economy, we cannot allow ourselves to be unprepared for Brexit. This campaign and the sectoral guides provide support and guidance to manufacturing firms across Northern Ireland and will provide clarity in an otherwise uncertain landscape.”

Dr Trevor Cadden, Senior Lecturer in Operations Management from Ulster University said:
“Many companies are hugely concerned about the current Brexit uncertainty and how difficult it will be to navigate a changing landscape. A lot of businesses in Northern Ireland lack the skills and resources to prepare for Brexit, so we trust that this unique set of easily accessible online supply chain resources will help guide them in the right direction.”
