The ‘Let’s Talk About Suicide’ online training programme, developed by the HSE National Office for Suicide Prevention (NOSP), has been named a finalist for Best Digital Learning Initiative at the Learning and Development Institute (L&DI) Awards.
Let’s Talk About Suicide was developed to empower individuals, communities, and professionals with the confidence and skills to have safe, sensitive conversations about suicide.
Created in partnership with digital learning experts Aurion Learning, the programme was designed using the Aurion High5 framework to provide an accessible, interactive, and practical online learning experience. The programme features dramatised video scenarios from those with lived experiences of suicide, modelled guides, and voice-recording exercises to help participants practice and build confidence in real-world situations.
Designed with a mobile-first approach, the course is available on-demand across all devices and platforms. To date, it has reached thousands of users nationwide.

This recognition highlights the programme’s positive impact, showcasing the Let’s Talk About Suicide online training as a powerful and effective example of digital learning in public health within a category that celebrates innovation and excellence.
The winners of the L&DI Awards will be announced at a ceremony later this year. Regardless of the outcome, the shortlisting of Let’s Talk About Suicide marks a proud moment for Aurion Learning in our mission to create learning that works for all, and everyone involved in this life-saving initiative.
