Aurion Learning and Bord Bia have won Gold for Best Extended Enterprise Learning Program at the Brandon Hall HCM Excellence Awards.
Bord Bia, the Irish Food Board, is the government agency responsible for the promotion and marketing of Ireland’s Food, Drink and Horticulture industry both within Ireland and across the world, thereby enabling the growth and sustainability of its producers.
Aurion Learning and Bord Bia have been recognised for their work in aiding Irish farmers to embrace best practices for farm sustainability via online training, provided through the Farm Sustainability Learning Hub.
The Farm Sustainable Learning Hub acts as a central hub to support farmers’ participation in sustainability training. It offers custom eLearning modules to streamline actions towards enhanced environmental and economic sustainability. This initiative aims to offer guidance, bridge knowledge gaps, and assist farmers in advancing their farms' sustainability efforts.
It is freely available to members of Bord Bia’s Sustainable Assurance Schemes for beef, lamb, dairy, pigmeat and horticulture.
Aurion Learning worked closely with Bord Bia to understand their objectives for the project, ensuring it was tailored to meet the needs of all stakeholders.
Commenting on the award's success, Deirdre Ryan, Director of Origin Green from Bord Bia added:
“The Farm Sustainability Learning Hub was developed in response to the needs of our farmer members. Through surveying farmers, we learnt that the majority would welcome guidance on how to improve their farm’s environmental sustainability further. The learning hub was developed to support farmers on their path to improved farm sustainability. Members who undertake these modules will get an understanding of the optimal measures to take across a range of farming practices. In many cases, they may already be making the correct choices or they will identify and plan for changes required to meet best practice.”
Managing Director of Aurion Learning, Gavin Woods added:
“Winning a Brandon Hall Gold award is worthy of note. This independent recognition is testament to the hard work and expertise of the Bord Bia team and their approach to supporting farmers in their sustainability efforts. We really enjoy working collaboratively with the team as their learning partner across content and platform initiatives to meet the learning needs of farmers and other industry stakeholders.”
