The Challenge
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted Ireland's tourism and hospitality sector, resulting in a shortage of skilled workers and businesses across the sector facing a skills gap. One in three tourism and hospitality workers is new to the industry, making upskilling solutions more important than ever.
Fáilte Ireland recognised the urgency of this challenge and the need for a digital platform to support both new and seasoned employees in building and refining their skills without disrupting daily operations. To address these needs, Fáilte Ireland sought a digital learning provider to design a flexible, engaging and scalable platform that met the needs of the tourism industry.
The Solution
After a competitive tender process, Fáilte Ireland chose Aurion Learning as their digital learning partner to create an online platform that would meet the specific training needs of tourism professionals. Working closely with Fáilte Ireland’s team, Aurion Learning developed LearniFI, a comprehensive digital learning platform that offers:
Course Library: Over 250 practical courses and workshops, so users can learn at their own pace. The courses cover a wide range of essential skills so new and experienced professionals can find content relevant to their role and career progression, allowing users to learn at their own pace.
Blended Learning: Courses are designed by industry experts and delivered through a mix of live and on-demand sessions, so users can choose how and when they engage with the content, maximising flexibility and learning outcomes.
User-Centred Design: Leveraging Aurion Learning’s expertise in learning design, LearniFI provides an intuitive user experience that is accessible anytime, anywhere, and from any device. Seamless integration with existing Fáilte Ireland systems makes user access and operational efficiency even easier.
Ongoing Support and Scalability: The platform is built to scale as the industry recovers and grows. Aurion Learning also provides dedicated support for Fáilte Ireland system administrators to manage the platform.
