CSR and ESG at Aurion Learning
At Aurion, we are committed to implementing strategies that promote the protection of the environment, avoid waste and support sustainable business activities.
Our Corporate Social Responsibility commitment
We are dedicated to conducting ethical and sustainable business operations. This means we continuously assess our social, economic and environmental footprint.
We foster a culture of social responsibility to each other as colleagues, to our clients and to those in our wider community, with a commitment to a better, cleaner local and global environment.
Our CSR in the community
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is embedded in our DNA and we actively promote employee volunteering, skills matching and fundraising. We support local charities and the communities in which we operate.
We also have CSR ambassadors across the organisation, who help the wider Aurion Learning team to set up and run various community projects.
Over the years, our commitment to corporate social responsibility has been recognised through several awards in acknowledgement of our care for our colleagues and our impact on the community and environment.
Proudly supporting Storehouse
As part of our CSR activities, the Aurion team volunteer over 100 hours per year with our nominated charity partner, Storehouse Belfast. Storehouse Belfast is a charity initiative that provides all essential items and practical assistance to those who need it.
With an increasing number of families requiring support, we hope our contribution to this crucial service will play a small part in helping people in our local communities.
Working in line with the UN Sustainable Development Goals
Developed by the United Nations (UN), the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) encompass 17 comprehensive objectives that establish a worldwide framework aimed at fostering peace and prosperity while reflecting environmental considerations.
As a leader in digital learning, we have integrated the ESG principles into our business foundation and are focusing on the 5 UN Sustainable Development Goals, and corresponding themes of the Social Value Model, that most closely reflect our key areas of impact:
-
Good health and wellbeing
-
Quality education
-
Affordable and clean energy
-
Industry and innovation
-
Infrastructure and climate action
ESG in practice
We have signed up to the Climate Action Pledge in association with Business in the Community Northern Ireland and the NI Environmental Benchmarking Survey. This is an important step to help benchmark our sustainability initiatives and align ourselves with the EU Climate Bill target.
We are also dedicated to backing a calendar of consistent internal and external programs that align with SDGs.
In line with our core values, as our company continues to grow, we will uphold our steadfast dedication to our CSR and ESG commitments.
